BenchCalc ("the App") is operated by Atelier Barnard SL ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Spain. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. What We Collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the App and improve it.

• Email address — when you join our waitlist, sign up for beta testing, or create an account.
• App preferences — your settings (preferred units, temperature scale, quick-access tiles) are stored locally on your device.
• Anonymous usage analytics — we may collect aggregated, non-identifying data about which features are used to help us prioritise development. This data cannot be linked to you personally.
• Subscription data — if you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not see or store your payment card details.

2. What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address unless you voluntarily provide it.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not use your data for AI training or profiling.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To send you launch updates, beta invitations, and product news (email). You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To process and manage your subscription.
• To improve the App based on anonymous usage patterns.

4. Where Your Data is Stored

Email and account data is processed by our email service provider (Kajabi Inc.) and may be stored on servers in the United States. Kajabi complies with applicable data protection regulations. App preferences are stored locally on your device and never leave it.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email address for as long as you remain on our mailing list or maintain an active account. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent for email communications at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store — for app distribution and subscription payments.
• RevenueCat — for subscription management.
• Metals API — for live precious metal prices. No personal data is sent to this service.
• Sentry — for anonymous crash reporting to help us fix bugs.

8. Children's Privacy

BenchCalc is a professional tool intended for adult jewellers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
